This workshop opens the door to the wide world of slapstick, gags, and pratfalls

Starting from the conflicts and mishaps of everyday life, we will explore the misunderstandings, conflicts, and accidents that inevitably provoke laughter. We will discover the basic rules of this art of imbalance and then apply them, by constructing fights, gags, chases, and other absurdities…
The work will begin with physical preparation: stability, fluidiity, and availability will be essential before moving on to simple floor acrobatics, and then a series of comic routines. These routines can then be assembled to create short sketches. The art of the gag shows how humans, despite their best efforts, are in permanent conflict with the physical world around them. Clothes, furniture and objects large and small will be our playground.
Jos Houben, an expert in the art of slapstick, will guide participants in acquiring the tools of the genre and applying these mechanisms to build short comic scenes and sketches.

480€ self financed (payment plan possible)/ 1000€ if paid by AFDAS, France Travail etc.
